The Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and the Rialto Theatre launch a call for submissions of feature films in the two Competition Sections of “Cyprus Film Days”, the official international film festival of Cyprus. The Festival aims to broaden its horizons beyond the geographical boundaries of Cyprus, as well as to attract international film industry professionals and audiences, thereby turning Cyprus into a meeting hub for the three neighbouring continents. The 24th edition of Cyprus Film Days IFF will take place between 17 and 25 April 2026, both in Nicosia and Limassol. The feature films to be submitted must be 2024 or 2025 or 2026 productions. You may submit your film via www.filmfreeway.com/cyprusfilmdays until 15/12/2025. COMPETITION SECTIONS Α. “GLOCAL IMAGES” INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION SECTION:  The Glocal Images International Competition Section accepts films that highlight the nuances of local cultures while exploring, in innovative ways, themes of global relevance. April by Déa Kulumbegashvili (Georgia, Italy, France) and Smaragda by Emilios Avraam won Best Film Awards at the International and Cypriot Competition Section, respectively, at the 23rd Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2025.   This year’s exciting journey of screenings and parallel events ended on a high note on Saturday 12 April with the presentation of the Audience Award, the winners of the competition section and the awards of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days co-production, training and networking platform. Smaragda by Emilios Avraam also garnered Best Performance Award for the work of protagonist Niovi Charalambous. Best Director Award in the Cypriot Films Competition Section went to Kyros Papavasileiou for his film The Sock. Just as every beautiful story comes to an end, so too is the 23rd Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2025 getting ready to wrap up on Saturday 12 April at Rialto Theatre with  a closing ceremony bringing  together images, emotions and many awards.  After nine days of coming together and engaging in cinematic exchanges, the festival delivers its final act  with the screening of Together Apart by acclaimed Cypriot filmmaker Aliki Danezi Knutsen. The film follows a couple on an isolated island, where the before and after of their relationship intersect. The end of the screening will mark  the beginning of the festival’s official closing with a ceremony curated by interdisciplinary artist Korallia Stergides. Stergides will reassume the persona of Deep Love who “popped” during the opening ceremony and now continues  her journey to the big screen as she gently eases us back into reality. The award ceremony and the winners’ speeches will be followed by a  fun and creative wrap party in the SEK parking place, behind Rialto Theatre, featuring video projections and music by  the German collective From Berlin With Love. Η Κριτική Επιτροπή αποτελούμενη από επαγγελματίες του χώρου του κινηματογράφου  και συγκεκριμένα με Πρόεδρο την ηθοποιό Agni Scott και μέλη τους, Σμαρώ Παπαευαγγέλου, Κλείτο Κλείτου, Μάριο Ιωάννου, Παναγιώτη Μαργέτη, Προκόπη Αγαθοκλέους, Δήμητρα Μπάρλα, Γιάννη Σακαρίδη και Μένο Δελιοτζάκη αξιολόγησαν όλες τις ταινίες και κατέληξαν στα πιο κάτω αποτελέσματα.
